Austin Larson

NOFF.GG is a hub for web tools, user-created guides, data, and player stats for mobile games. Each game has its own unique set of tools, design, and community.

My role in this project started from the beginning, with the initial design and logo of the site, building the front-end, and optimizing it for search. Since then I've been continuously improving the site, adding new features, and monitoring existing tools.

Accomplishments:

• Designed and developed 6+ unique spaces tailored to each game
• Researched and developed a multitude of useful tools to add to the site for increased engagement
• Built tables and managed data of thousands of user-created posts with Amazon DynamoDB
• Designed a tournament hosting tool for users to create and host gaming tournaments with over 200 players
• Developed a search functionality utilizing Supercell's REST APIs to fetch and display player profile data
• Written several Python scripts to fetch data from DynamoDB and Supercell's APIs

Themis Games is a website with online games accessible to everyone. The main focus of this site was to have a place where blind and sighted players could play games together, without sacrificing the design for either.

I designed and developed the Themis Games website to be an accessible and modern landing page to bring users to our games.

Wordvoyance

What started the entire project was the online multiplayer crossword game, Wordvoyance. With this game, you can play online against friends or random players similar to the games of Scrabble and Words With Friends.

Accomplishments:

• Redesigned parts of the UI and added a dark theme and high contrast mode
• Fixed various front-end bugs and added UX improvements
• Added push notifications through the app-wrapper when completing a game or poking a player
• Added a shop for subscriptions and game purchases with PayPal
• Added Guest user accounts with limited functionality using Firebase

Brailliance

I was tasked to create a daily puzzle game for a Braille-learning app. What started small, turned into an entirely new project called Brailliance. In this game, you need to guess the word utilizing the number of Braille dots for letters.

Accomplishments:

• Built the game's prototype, continuously improving the game design
• Designed and developed the UI and logo
• Added custom analytics to track level progression and poor-performing levels

Hangduels

Hangduels is an accessible hangman game in an arcade format. I designed and developed the game, created art assets, and added support for keyboards and screen readers.

Word Cheats is a large site full of many different tools regarding word and puzzle games, word lists, and a blog. For this project, I designed the style of the site, created the logo, developed the front-end, and built different tools for specific games.

This webpage is a simple showcase for the mobile game Finders Sweepers. With existing art assets, I designed and developed the page to quickly inform the user on what the game is and how to download it.

This project is a simple landing page for the frame-by-frame video app, CoachView. I designed and developed the page to showcase the app's main purpose and where to download it.

Pokemon Unite .GG is a resource for user-created builds and game data for the multiplayer game Pokémon Unite. In this project, I designed the overall style of the site and developed significant parts of the front-end.

Accomplishments:

• Developed a custom tool to view maps in the game with zoom and filter capabilities
• Designed and developed an extensive Build Creator for users to post their builds and guides
